Gospel Ministry
Seven voices, one mission. Lifting spirits through the power of gospel music and ministry.
The Ministry

Merging contemporary urban sensibilities with the traditional gospel quartet sound, 7 Sons of Soul bring a refreshing twist to the gospel genre. The group was formed in Washington, D.C., after singers Cliff Jones and Deonte Gray completed recording "Run On" in the studio. Pleased with the results, they decided to officially assemble a group and complete a whole album.
Jones and Gray drafted singer Dave "DaveyBoy" Lindsey along with drummer Paul "Buggy" Edwards, keyboardist Sam Kendrick, and bassist Nathaniel Fields. Lindsey produced and wrote the bulk of the material, and the result was a 14-track album ranging from traditional to modern gospel. The project was released by Verity Records in 2004 and reached number 24 on the Billboard Top Gospel Albums chart.
The follow-up Witness arrived on the Zomba label in 2007 and also hit the gospel chart. After years of live performances including a 2010 concert at the Kennedy Center with Maggie Ingram & the Ingramettes, the group returned with "Run" in 2014 and "High & Mighty" in 2016 released by Soul World Entertainment. The new direction for the group now includes Cliff Jones, David Lindsey, Ronnie Lindsey on bass and voices like Kenneth Epperson, Eric Graham, and Matthew Tucker, the ministry continues to spread the message of hope, love, and faith through the universal language of gospel music.
